Hereford Breed Strategy 2009 - 2011
The promotion of the use of the Hereford Breed in the National Beef Herd featuring particularly the benefits of temperament and economy of production.
To focus Hereford breeders on the traits which are relevant to the commercial Beef Industry and to engage with our partners in the supply chain to bring about breed improvement – particularly in the area of carcass quality.
To maintain an effective communication with Hereford breeders and the wider Beef Industry – using all appropriate technologies and the National Press.
To encourage and develop the role of Area Associations as a means of disseminating information and of delivering services to members.
To support and promote wherever possible the growing market for Branded Hereford Beef as a premium quality product.
To involve and engage with young breeders to generate interest and enthusiasm for the Hereford Breed.
To provide a comprehensive range of services to members whilst ensuring the financial viability of the Society and generating sufficient income to fund Breed promotion and development.
