Hereford Cattle Society was one of the founding members of the World Hereford Council and continues to be an active member today.

This council forms a network of countries from across the world which are permitted to export animals and germplasm freely for the benefit of breeders and the enhancement of the Hereford breed in those importing countries.

The council meets in a different member country every four years at the World Hereford Conference, which consists of a council meeting, herd visits and industry speakers, with the next being held in Kansas City, Missouri, USA in 2024.

In addition to the World Hereford Conference, a European Conference is also scheduled every four years, with the next to be held in France in 2022.
